Spring is well along here, with the trees fully leafed out and the meadows lush with grasses in full bloom. All of the neotropical birds are back, except we haven’t heard the shy cuckoo yet. Hummingbirds have been here for a month and have already staked out ownership of certain flower beds and hanging feeders. The pool is still covered as we’ve been running a bit below normal temperatures (supposed to go down to 37 F tonight – on the 17th of May!).

We’ll take the cooler temperatures however, it prolongs that intense green that makes spring in the mid-Atlantic so special.

The full swing of spring

We will be closed from Sunday 17 December through Friday 5 January for the winter holidays. Enjoy this season!
